Wall St end lower led by industrials, materials, tech space
US stocks ended lower led by industrials, materials and techs. Investors once again shrugged off a wave of mergerandacquisition activity. The Dow fell 39 points to close at 10,174. Nasdaq was the hardest hit.

Wall Street ends lower; crude declines nearly 3%
US markets closed lower but off the lows of the day amid light volume and continued worries over the state of the economy. The Dow closed nearly 60 points down at 10,320, the Nasdaq down nearly a percent at 2,190 and the SP 500 shut shop at 1,083.

US markets end lower; crude near to 1week low
US markets ended lower but pared losses from day\’s lows after the Federal Reserve said it would reinvest proceeds from maturing mortgage securities into the treasury market. The Dow closed more than 50 points down; the Nasdaq ended more than a percent down while the SP 500 closed at 1,121.

Wall St up on encouraging economic data; Nasdaq above 2300
Encouraging reports on jobs and the services sector fuelled gains on Wall Street. Both the Dow and the SP registered their highest levels since mid May. In economic data, the July ISM service index came in at 54.3, which is better than the 53 that had been expected.

6th straight session gain for US mkts led by Alcoa results
It was a strong close for the US markets yesterday. The Dow and Nasdaq are now up more than 7% over the past six sessions. The SP 500 also is up around 7%, its best sixday winning streak in over seven years.

Wall Street ends flat; Crude slips on profit booking
US markets ended Monday\’s trade flat; trading volume was light with just over 850 million shares changing hands on the New York stock exchange. The Dow closed at 10,216, the SP 500 at 1,079 and the Nasdaq shut shop at 2,198.
